Michael Popovic, Machine Learning Engineer Intern

We’re pleased to welcome Michael Popovic to Hilltop Partner Network as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern supporting our new AI-enabled software development project.

Michael recently completed his Diploma in Data Science and Machine Learning from RRC Polytech. During his program, he built a strong applied foundation in Python, SQL, and modern machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, and NLP libraries. This has allowed him to design and develop backend pipelines to ingest multi-format data and convert it into structured JSON outputs.

He also has experience implementing AI-powered parsing, OCR, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases for indexing and semantic retrieval and developed embedding generation and cosine-similarity search for document matching and information retrieval.

Michael was previously part of a student team that partnered with HPN through the RRC ACE Project Space and Riipen, where he contributed to applied, industry-facing project work. Now that he has graduated, he is joining our team on a full-time internship through the Mitacs Accelerate program, a national initiative that supports research and innovation partnerships between academia and industry.

We’re excited to have Michael continue his journey with HPN as a core member of our engineering team, contributing to the design and deployment of scalable AI-driven solutions.
