Supporting Indigenous education with HPN’s 2024 Social Responsibility Initiative

Hilltop Partner Network (HPN) believes in showing our commitment to being a good corporate citizen and community member. One of the ways we try to do that is through our annual Social Responsibility Initiative, a charitable donation to a registered not-for-profit agency on behalf of the membership.

This year’s donation builds on HPN’s tradition of giving. In 2022, we donated to the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund through the Canadian Red Cross, aiding disaster recovery efforts in affected communities. In 2023, we contributed to the End Hunger Fund through United for Change, supporting global food security initiatives. Each of these initiatives reflects the values  we hold as an organization and the collective spirit of our members.

In 2024, we are proud to announce our donation to Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships program. HPN is particularly interested in supporting initiatives that encourage Indigenous and other under-represented populations to enter technology, cybersecurity, and business fields. We believe fostering diversity in these sectors is essential to driving innovation and creating equitable opportunities for all.

Indspire is a national Indigenous charity that has provided over $217 million in financial support to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students since 1996. Through more than 66,000 bursaries, scholarships, and awards, Indspire has empowered Indigenous learners to achieve their education goals. Recognized as a Top 10 Canadian Impact Charity for seven consecutive years (2017-2023) by Charity Intelligence, Indspire demonstrates a remarkable track record of accountability and impact.

The Building Brighter Futures program directly supports Indigenous students by reducing financial barriers to post-secondary education. By dedicating our 2024 Social Responsibility Initiative to this program, HPN aims to contribute to creating equitable opportunities for Indigenous youth, fostering their success, and empowering future leaders. This is one small way we can support the critical work of reconciliation and amplify the potential of Indigenous communities across Canada.

Thank you to all our members for supporting HPN’s commitment to social responsibility.

Decoding Project Success

How do you define a “successful” project? Who determines that a project has been successful? Traditionally, it's about meeting scope, time, and budget. As a seasoned Project Manager, with two decades of experience successfully completing every project I was responsible for, I’ve learned that defining project success is a lot more nuanced than that.
